Cash's Nursery

This weekend we painted Cash's room, and his bathroom. My mom and Clonda came over to help.. and I really appreciated it. With Diego being sick and me just being pregnant.. I don't think we could have done it with out them.

The almost finished product.. The white strip will be covered with a chair rail, painted yellow. I didn't want pastel colors, but I wasn't expecting the colors to be so bright. I think it will be ok once we get the furniture in there..

I forgot to add this picture to my Dallas Game post. These were the most expensive, yet best tasting nachos I've ever eaten!

Fruit Salad

So, you may remember from my Thanksgiving post.. that I was craving fruit salad. Well, last night I couldn't shake the craving.. so I drug my sick husband to HEB with me.. to get the makings for fruit salad. I don't know how to make fruit salad by the way. I just vaguely remember making a version of it a few years ago. So, I gave it my best shot. I bought.. grapes, oranges (which I REALLY wanted, and I think that's why I wanted the fruit salad so bad) bananas, canned pineapple chunks and honey crisp apples. I also bought instant banana pudding. I cut up all the fruit.. and made the banana pudding which calls for 2 cups of milk. Instead of putting 2 cups of milk, I put 1 cup of milk and the juice from the pineapple which was about a cup. Stirred it together.. and bam! There's my fruit salad. Craving satisfied!

Jonah Cash to Cash Carter

After nearly a month of calling our baby Jonah.. he is now Cash. Cash was the name that I really wanted to go with before we ever posted the poll. For some reason, I just like the way it sounds. Diego always liked it, but never showed much interest in having that be his first name. Now all of a sudden.. his name has to be Cash!

When I say it as a name, I try not to think of it as.. cash money. I think of it as Johnny Cash. I was having a really hard time coming up with a middle name to go with it though. I finally put it with Carter, my maiden name, and I kinda fell in love with the sound of it. I also liked that it was a little piece of my father stuck in there. Diego's dilemma was that he thought people would think his last name was Carter. The thing that never ocured to us, but has since been pointed out is.. Johnny Cash & June Carter. I can't decided if that is cool, or lame :/

I was a little irritated that he wanted to change the name.. however, I do like Cash a lot too. I mean, how indecisive can two people be! Gee whiz! I told Diego that if we do change the name to Cash.. that would be final. Absolutely final, and that I don't want to hear another word about it. So... there you have it. Cash Carter Ybarra.

P.S. Do you think people will think his name is Cashy Barra? oh, the crap that runs threw my head! hahaha

Thanksgiving

This was the first Thanksgiving I have spent with my family in 3 years! I always have to work.. it was so great to chow down on all the food I love! I wish we would have taken home some left overs! I'm craving yams and fruit salad right now!

Sadly, we didn't make it to Diego's family this year.. we were headed over there and got word that everyone had left already. Plus, Diego was feeling sick so we just headed home. We listened to the Cowboy game on the way home, and made it home just as it was finishing. We made some Fiesta Salad, Fiesta Dip as Diego calls it. (Thanks Stephanie! We love it!) and watched the Longhorn game. Boy was that a nail biter! I knew Texas would pull threw though!! Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

Lady: well, I wanted to say something for a while.. but, you know some people just get bellies.

Lady: your face is looking pregnant if you didn't already know.
Me: I'm fully aware. Thanks.

Dallas Game

After a long night at the Texas game, we headed to Dallas early the next morning to watch the Cowboys play at noon. I kept up a lot better than I thought I would, however.. the car ride home was not fun. I started getting nauseous and I just wanted to be out of the car. I was really happy to be home Sunday night. Monday night, I fell asleep at 7:30 and slept all night. I guess I was more exhausted than I thought!

Texas Game

We went to the Texas Game on Saturday the 21st, to watch them play Kansas. It was Colt & Jordan's last home game. The game was a great and the weather wasn't too bad.. just little foggy and a bit chilly!

22 weeks

I am extremely irritated with our computer, I can't wait to get a new one! Blogger isn't making things any better either. No update this week, just a picture. Tomorrow is already going to be 23 weeks, so I am a little on posting.. oops!

A Boy Named..

Yes! We finally decided on a name! Thank God. With every ones help we narrowed down the names to Jonah Cash, and Cash Carter. Although the most popular names were Ryan Quinn, Ryan Fenix and Noah Austin.. Diego wasn't willing to settle for any of those. We kept going back and forth with Jonah & Cash.. saying "Ok, it's going to be Cash.. but, I like Jonah too!" So we said forget it, let's just put the names in a bowl and pick a name. Jonah Cash was the winner! We're both happy with this name and look forward to meeting little Jonah very soon!

21 Weeks

Alright.. Week 21 is here. 130 days (or less) to go! Our baby is on his way to having a name, thanks to the help of our family and friends. We've narrowed it down, and got rid of all the crap names. I'm hoping to have it figured out with in a few days... or maybe by my week 22 post. Other than that.. not all that much going on around here.

I want to buy him clothes, but I am having a hard time doing that because everything out right now is thermal, fleece and long sleeves. He won't be needing that stuff in March.. I guess I could buy 9-12 month stuff.. but, I'm content with fixing up the nursery and will start working on his wardrobe after Christmas when the spring stuff comes out.

We got the bedding last weekend and I'll probably be buying all the other little things that go a long with it this weekend... like the valance, the hamper, the mobile. I know people think I should wait for my shower to get all that stuff, but I don't want to wait that long! Plus, there are a ton of other things people can get me. I want his nursery put together asap. We'll be picking out colors for the walls here in the next few weeks, and we plan on doing all the painting the weekend after Thanksgiving. I think I'm about ready to order the furniture for the room! Yay! Exciting..

Also, a huge thanks to my sister and brother in law, Erica & Jerry, for passing on a few of their baby items. A papasan swing, bouncer and some new bottles! Can't wait to use them!

Some of the names on this list are Diego's creations.. and some are mine. Some I hate, some he hates.. but, we want to know what you all think!

20 Weeks

I've made it to the half way point! yay! Even though it seems like I have been pregnant forever.. I can't believe I'm already half way done. Sunday marked 140 days down, 140 more to go. So, now I've got 137 more days to go! I'm starting to feel really pregnant. Not just the belly, but bending over is becoming a problem. I'm having a really hard time painting my toes, shaving my legs, tieing my shoes, and crossing my legs when I sit. I often find myself out of breath. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep because my breathing is so loud. I feel like I have started to waddle.... I've already gained 13 pounds! and 9 since Oct 7th! Ahhhh.. not good. My doctor didn't yell at me, but she said that she will if I have gained another 9 pounds at my next appointment. Please lord, help me.. Thanksgiving is coming and I plan on stuffing my face!

Oh and yes, my hair is not up for the first time in my belly pictures. I chopped it all off. It's soo much shorter than it was, and I'm not one bit sad about it.

Drum Roll Please..........

We revealed the news to our parents by braking into their houses and putting these balloons up for them to see when they walked in the door! I confess, we told a white lie to our families.. our appointment was actually at 10 this morning, not 3:30. However, it originally was scheduled for 3:30.. but the office called to reschedule a week or 2 ago. We decided to do the balloon idea, so we didn't want everyone asking what the verdict was (Stephanie!).. which we figured would happen if everyone knew we were going in at 10. I tell you it was hard to keep it quiet just those few hours! We wanted our parents to be the first to know, however Diego's youngest brother was home when he brought the balloons over.. so he was the first in our families to find out.

I guess it's true that a mother always knows! Even though my heart was saying, "please be a girl", my brain said.. "nope, your getting a boy!" I'm totally fine with that.. I know I will have stylish little boy!! I can't wait to buy him clothes, and tennis shoes.. some vans, chuck taylors.. the whole bit. I am beyond thrilled to know that my baby is "he" and no longer "it". So... onward with the nursery! I deleted a bunch of stuff on my BBbaby registry, and I will be going to Target sometime soon to scan stuff! Yay!

Anticipation

The anticipation is killing me. I absolutely can not wait for tomorrow to get here.. it's one of the days I have waited for my whole life.. finding out what I have been blessed with. It's the answer to all my questions. This bed set or that one? This name or that one? Pink stuff or blue stuff? Who wins, Daddy or Gran? It's a huge day, and I can't wait to share our news with everyone. I'll most definitely be back tomorrow to post pictures and thoughts. Hopefully I can get some sleep tonight!
