A Few Nursery Updates

Not all that much as changed in the nursery, just a few additions.

The plant, side table, and paintings are new. The plant we have had a for a long time, I think it goes well in the room. The side table we got on sale at World Market. Last one they had.. I was happy to snag it up! The paintings.. turned out pretty good. I was really nervous about them.. but, I think they are good for my first time!

Close up of the paintings.. they are not perfect, by any means but, I like the way the felt plants came out. I think it gives them a little something extra.

Finally finished repainting his name. The C & S both had blue backgrounds.. practically the same blue as the wall, and it just didn't look right so I ended up painting them red to go with the red of the A & H, however the red paint that I had did not match the color of the A & H so I ended up repainting all of them. The blue on the C & S was really hard to cover! There are several layers of paint on them.. these are definitely not perfect. So don't look too close! Overall though, they look fine.

Eventually, the name will be hung above the crib.. we aren't very good at hanging things on the wall, so those will have to wait until my mom comes to our house again. Also, I put together the swing that my sister in law gave us.. Chucky is hanging out in it until Cash gets here. Making sure those feline sisters don't take it over!

Last but not least, I love these picture frames we got for Christmas from Pier One. The pictures hang from clothes pins.. They will also be hung up whenever my mom comes out again.

That's all for now.. we still need a few things, like the chair pad for the rocking chair, rug for the floor, floating shelves for the other wall, changing pad for the dresser, hang the valance... and whatever else we find!

Doc Appointment

I went to see Dr. Grimes last Tuesday.. Diego wasn't able to go with me to the appointment, so my mom and Aunt Clonda came with me. They got to see Cash in action! He had the hiccups which was causing him to move all over the place. Once the hiccups were finished he settled down. He looks great! He was 2.4 pounds.. which I think they said was in the 48 the percentile, so he is an average sized baby. I emailed this very picture to Cash's dad and he did not have very nice things to say!! First off, he could not make out anything in the picture.. and after I pointed everything out he said his hand looked like a kids beach rake! Not very nice. Poor Cash, all he ever wanted was for his dad to love him! :) I also had my glucola test, still anxiously awaiting the results of that. Please be good news!

Is it really that hard to see? I see him perfectly!!

Art Project

I consider myself to be a little crafty.. but, definitely no artist. I've been wanting to paint a picture on a canvas for some time now, but I've been a little nervous about it. I don't want to mess it up. One day while I was at work.. working really hard ;) I went online and looked at pictures of the bedding and starting drawing. I actually think they turned out quite well. So, I decided I would try to paint these pictures on canvases for the nursery. I bought all the supplies last night, and will probably start painting this weekend or sometime soon. I'm nervous! Working with paint is a lot harder than working with markers. I plan to use felt for the plants. I hope, hope these turn out well! The walls in this room are counting on me!

I'm going to make the zebra face the other direction, for some reason it bothers me that he is turned away from the other animals. Just one of those little things that will irritate me if I don't fix it!

Week 26

Less than 95 days to go!

Time is flying by! It seems like not so long ago, I was telling Diego 'less that 200 days to go!' Even though March does still seem to be kinda far away, especially since my belly is already huge.. I can't imagine what it will look like come March. Actually, I am not even sure I will make it to March.. I'm just glad there is no leap year in 2010.

At my last appointment, I got the H1N1 shot.. and have felt crummy ever since! I haven't been full blown sick, but I have a lot of congestion and I can't breathe! I was already breathing heavy (especially in my sleep) so being congested isn't helping matters at all. On top of that, we have had several luncheons and work.. the latest one end with me waking up at 2 am with an upset stomach. Pregnant. Congested. Churning stomach.. not fun at all.

Other than that.. everything is all good around here. Just finishing up Christmas and stocking up on diapers!

Cash's Nursery: Update

We started out Saturday with a plan. We had a guy coming to put up the chair rail in Cash's room, and we were going to get the furniture. A crib and dresser..

My aunt and uncle were nice enough to let us use their truck to pick up the furniture.. however, it wasn't as simple as going to pick up the furniture and bringing it to my house. I didn't go with them to pick up the furniture.. I simply called the store, told them which furniture and the color and had them put it on hold for me. My mom and aunts show up, get the furniture and bring it to our house. We take everything out of the truck and realize they gave us the wrong dresser. They gave us a chest of drawers and not the shorter dresser I had put on hold. I call the store and they say for us to bring it back and they would give us 10% off. (not good enough in my opinion, but fine) On the way to bringing it back, it dawns on them to check the crib to make sure it's the correct item. Of course, it's not... it's WHITE! You have to be kidding me, seriously! It was a total fiasco and way to much back and forth!

On top of that, the chair rail guy stands us up..

We finally got all the right items and the chair rail did get put up last night. So the room, is coming together!! Here are the pictures :D

The mobile doesn't work well with this crib, the base is on lean..

I may try and hang it from the ceiling, we'll see.

Week 25

My butt looks saggy.. haha

Not much going on this week as far as me and my body go..

I do have an issue determining how many months pregnant I am.

I don't want to go into a whole math lesson here.. but, to me 24 weeks equals 6 months.. however, that doesn't match up with March being the 9th month. Every website I go to says something different. I hate math so I prefer to just go by weeks. If someone asks how many months I am.. I generally say.. Oh about 6ish. haha..

Doc Appointment

So, I went to the doctor on Wednesday afternoon. I was soooooo dreading getting on the scale. I'm starting to feel extra puffy. I'm up another 7 pounds. Geez. A total of 21 pounds.. Good lord. I'll be rolling around come March. Luckily though, Dr. Grimes didn't yell at me or even mention my weight.. so I felt some relief on that front.

Dr. Grimes took a tape measure to my belly and said, "NO WAY." I had no idea what that meant! So I say, "WHAT?" She says that he is measuring 29 weeks, I am 24 weeks mind you! She pushes around on my belly and tells me that he moved so she remeasures.. and tells me that he is actually 27 1/2 weeks! He's still a big baby. She told me that she was worried that he would be small, but nope.. he's my little linebacker! He better go easy on me during birth or he'll be going to time out straight from the womb! haha..

My next appointment will be the week of Christmas.. I'll be doing my glucose test, and getting another Ultrasound. I can't wait to see our little Cash again.

Oh Christmas Tree

I sorta impulse bought our Christmas Tree last night. We kept going back and forth on if we wanted to chop a tree down, or just buy a fake one. Well, I made the executive decision last night. I was at Wal-Mart and saw this cheap $35 tree.. and decided what the heck, I'm getting it. It's 6 1/2 feet tall, pre-lit and pretty much perfect for our little living room. We spent last night decorating the tree and putting up all the Christmas junk.

Mia found herself a new bed for the next month!

Cash's Bathroom

Cash's Bathroom, aka the extra bathroom.. has a new look. It's had a few different looks over the 3 years we've lived here.. and I'm finally really happy with it! While my mom & I painted the nursery, Aunt Clonda painted the bathroom. She did a great job, I love it. Cash's room is going to be jungle themed, so I decided to go with the same for the bathroom with out over doing it. I don't want it to look like a kids bathroom.. so I went with a more "sophisticated" look. We already had the brown/orange theme going, with these towels I got from World Market which I love.. so I wanted to keep those. I found these really cute/cool animal pictures at Target. They animals are painted metal that pops out. I was so tired of the bathroom being so bright white. White walls and white cabinets.. we picked out a tan color and it looks so much better.

It's really hard to take a picture of a small bathroom!

Week 24

One again, it's already almost week 25.. but here we go..

Oh week 24. I'm trying to be a trooper.. but, damn. My back is killing me! My upper back aches... and my low, low back gets crazy sharp pains. Sometimes when I get up from sitting for a while, I try moving my right leg and it hurts soo bad! It actually makes me laugh because I can't walk. Also, sometimes when I bend over and then straighten up.. I get these catches in the middle of my low back.. I still have 16 weeks of this!

I'm really ready to have my son in my arms and have my body back to normal. I was just looking at week 15, where my belly was barely even showing and I can't even remember what it's like not caring around this bulge!

I'm a Mac.

Our baby has arrived. We purchased him last night. His name is Mac. We love him, although we don't know how to use him. I have a couple of blogs that I need to post, but they will be put on hold for a bit.. until I learn how to work the pictures on this computer. This is our Christmas gift to each other this year.. and probably our last major purchase before Cash take over our world.

Well, I figured this much out! Such a flattering picture.. don't you think? hahahahaha
