#22 - Another Fish Tank Cleaning..

Only this time.. with a Make Over! I bought some new gravel, and vibrant new plants. The tank was definitely getting boring so, I decided to add some life to it by adding color!

#54 - Decorate the Guest Bath - the beginninng stages

So, Steph's been gone for over a month now.. so it's time to get started decorating the guest bath. I had lots of ideas.. but I decided to step away from the Pottery Barn catalogues and do something a little more fun... Since I could not find a shower curtain that went along with the image in my head, I decided a funky rug would be cool.. Diego and I really liked this rug from Urban Outfitters.

The Urban Outfitters on the drag did not have this particular rug.. so I was planning on ordering it, but before I did.. (I'm good at jumping the gun) I went ahead and bought a solid black shower curtain and hot pink towels.. to match.. come to find out, a 3x5 rug.. does not fit in our guest bath.. so.. nix the rug.

So, now I have to find a new rug.. one that matches the rest of my pink and black stuff.. and looks just as cool.. I'm confident I will find something! I'm not in a rush..

I did buy some really cool bamboo for the bath room though..

Lazy Mia

I pulled the camera out to try to get a picture of Mia.. I have to do it on the down low.. or she will run off!

Then Marley showed up! I didn't see her until she was in the picture!

Valentines At VIVO

We celebrated Valentine's day a day late this year, Friday's just work better! Anyway, Diego and I went to dinner with Reno & Allison last night. We went to VIVO on Manor Road, it's a little Mexican restaurant that Diego and I like alot. The margarita's are superb! Afterwards, we went downtown to a few bars. Despite the crappy, cold & rainy weather.. we had a good night.

# 35 - Eat at a New To Me Restaurant

While out at the Chinese New Year.. We ate at Wok on Fire. It was pretty much your average Chinese food restaurant, but it was extremely packed (due to the festivities) and it was expensive! But the food was good.

Oh and I almost forgot. My fortune said..

Mark something off your to-do list. Prove you can follow through.

Our friends Reno and Allison asked Diego and I to join them in the Chinese New Year festivities.. Diego didn't request off work, so he didn't go.. but I did. We went to the Asian market/ shopping center out north off Braker & Lamar.. (might as well have been in Dallas!) We saw some shows.. which were really nothing to write home about, we didn't get there in time to see the Chinese Dragon dance show.. which I was bummed about.. that is what I really wanted to see.

I did get to experience the MT Supermarket which was significantly different from good ol HEB :) I took some pictures from inside.

There was tons of fish.. nasty fish!

Over all it was a good day, and a good experience... I can always say I went :)

As if Things Weren't Already Bad Enough...

I go and lose the diamond in my wedding ring..... I feel sick. I looked down, the prong was bent, and the diamond was gone. We had been out with friends.. we went to eat and to Urban Outfitters.. we were in 2 different cars.. we were at my cousins house.. the thing could be anywhere!! I thought we had insurance on it.. but my husband failed to mention to me that I was supposed to be bringing it in every 6 months for cleanings and checks. Since I never brought it in, the warrinty is not vaild. So shitty. Now, I have no ring.

Diego and I really do not need anymore set backs! We are trying to move forward and plump up our savings.. but how can we do that.. when as soon as we get ahead, something bad goes and happens?!? We still have not gotten his car fixed.. Ugh. This really aggervates me!

Give Your Pets an Extra Hug

It's been a depressing couple of weeks in our world..

On January 10th.. My dog/my mom's dog Raven.. was diagnosed with Cancer. It was so hard to see her knowing that she was only going to be around a few more weeks.. She was a very sweet dog, she was fun, and very smart.. she was only 6 years old. On the 25th, my mom decided that her quality of life had deminished enough to were you could tell she was suffering and we didn't want that. So, we decided to have the vet put her down. It was scheduled to happen at 9 am, so I got dressed and rushed to my moms house. Of course, there was a crap load of traffic and I was scared I would not make it in time. But I did. When I got there and I saw her, I was beside myself. I can't explain how it felt to see her laying there practically lifeless.. It still makes me cry. When it was time to go, she could not get up.. we were going to try to pick her up, but that didn't really work out, so my mom just sat there with her. I had to walk away because it was too much.. A few minutes later, my mom said that she was dying.. so I went back over.. I held her paw, rubbed her back and that I loved her, my mom and I talked to her and told her that it was ok to go.. then she died.. It was a terrible day.. but some time has past and it's a little easier to talk about now.. even though we all miss her like crazy.

Rest in Peace Little Raven. I love you and I miss you!

Then on Monday, Feb. 4th.. My Aunt Clonda's Pug Jordan passed away unexpectedly.. Clonda took her to the vet because she thought something was up with her.. and just wanted to get her checked out. So she dropped her so they could run tests on her. They called her back and told her she was diabetic and that she would need Insulin shots, which was not a huge deal.. because she already gives her other pug, Winnie, Insulin. I don't know all the details here, but at some point after that conversation, the vet called Clonda and told her that Jordan had died. I can only imagine the shock, disbelief, and helpness my aunt must of have felt at that moment. They did an autopsy on her and found out that she too, had Cancer. It was in her stomach and all around her heart. Jordan was easily stressed out over things such as going to the vet, so with an already weak heart, and being left alone in the vets office.. she possibly had a heart attack. My heart breaks for her and my aunt.

Rest In Peace Little Jord.. We Miss You.

When my mom and aunt moved into there new house in 2006, they had 5 dogs. Now they are down to 1.. Little Winnie is all by herself now. She is diabetic and going blind..

Pets are so much fun, but so hard to lose.

I find myself taking the cats for granted. I love them to pieces and I tell them just about everyday. Generally, when I get home for both jobs.. it's late and I'm just trying to chill.. Marley comes creeping up trying to get in my lap.. kneading all over me.. wanting to be pet.. which makes her fur fly everywhere.. by that time, I'm officially annoyed. I wonder to myself, why does that annoy me (it doesn't always.. but sometimes it does) She misses me.. she wants to be with me and she loves me. One day, she will be gone and I will wish I had her there to annoy me!So, next time she comes crawling up.. I will let her stay as long as she wants :)

Happy Birthday Mia!

My precious little angel.. Mia.. turned 4 today!!! Well, I actually don't know when her REAL birthday is.. but I got her on March 16 (I think) of 2004.. and they told me she was 5 weeks old.. So I counted back 5 weeks.. and picked the day I liked the best out of that week.. I chose the 4th! (of course, my birthday is on the 4th of May) Diego and I had a mini.. a very mini.. party for her. I bought her a "treat" which is just wet cat food in those pouch things.. they absouletly LOVE that stuff.. and I bought her/them a new toy which they seem to really like.

Mia likes her toy.. however, she does not like the camera.. so I didn't get any good pictures of her..

Marley on the other hand doesn't mind the camera so much.. so she continued to play...

So Happy 4th Birthday Mia..

New Idea!

I think I'm going to turn this into my "whatever" blog. I will continue to blog about the things I mark off my 101 list.. but I will also blog about things we do.. things that are on my mind.. my likes and dislikes.. and everything in between. I'm sure you can't wait to hear all the things I have to say.. haha!

There's Barley Time to Sleep!

Geez! It's been a while since I even logged into blogger.. I've forgotten what to do! Since I've started my part time job at Alfred Angelo.. it seems I barley have time to sleep! I wake up.. go to work.. go to work #2.. get home.. watch one televison show to unwind and go to sleep.. Wake up and repeat!

So needless to say, I haven't a lot of time to complete much on my list for January. I didn't try a new restaurant.. or have my friends over for a cooked meal.. or sweep weekly.. but I did.. watch a few movies..

I thought it was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of Dane Cook or Jessica Alba..

but I was entertained. I'd buy it if was in the $5.99 bin at Wal-Mart :)

What else have I done....

I printed some of our wedding pictures.. and put them in frames.. but I have not hung the frames!! I've really been dragging my feet on this project.

I'm having a few problems:

1. I want to paint the hall before I hang the pictures.. and painting sucks.

2. We haven't decided a color yet..

3. We need more picture frames..

4. and more pictures (but which pictures?!? there are so many!)

5. We want to mix mirriors with the frames.. to bring some light into the hall way.. But we have not bought any mirrors!

So.. until I get motivated on that.. the already framed pictures will be lining the hall way..

on the floor!

Oh I attempted to frame some of Jackson's pictures.. but they came out small.. So I just hung them on the fridge instead!
