Here's The Story

I finished one of the two books I got for Christmas. The first one I read was Here's the Story by Maureen McCormick. My favorite books are memoirs. I love to read about the struggles in people's lives.. and this one was just that. It gives you a little behind the scenes look at the life on the set of The Brady Bunch. For example, how Jan used to walk around the dressing room naked and would always fart in front of her and Cindy! haha. This definitely isn't my favorite book, but it was a good read.

Mia and the TV

Since I posted pictures of Marley yesterday.. I figure I'll go ahead and post a picture that I thought was pretty cute of Mia. This wasn't to long after we got the new TV.. I caught her watching the Wii cursor moving around on the screen. I had to take a picture. I was hesitant to put a picture of our TV on here.. but I guess it doesn't really matter.

Oh and I guess, while I am on the subject of our new TV.. On Monday, we had someone from Craig's List come and buy our old TV and Entertainment Center. I didn't really want to get rid of the EC, but it was so big and took up to much room in our little house. Our living room has so much more space now!

Inauguration

I watched the Inauguration today at home. I've never watched an Inauguration before, so I didn't really know what to expect. All I know is that I felt very proud watching President Obama speak. Who knows if he will be able to make all the changes he promises, but I know he has America inspired.

I wanted to also mention, that President Obama looks very good in High Def!

2 Movies. 1 Weekend.

I hardly ever go to the movies, but there are few movies out right now that I want to see. So, this weekend I marked 2 off the list.

Starting with Friday night, Brad and I went to go see The Wrestler. It wasn't as deep as I thought it was going to be, but it was still a good movie. I think the whole theatre got a little annoyed by the obnoxious laugher in the back row. Seriously, this guy must have been on happy meds or something.. because he was laughing hysterically at parts that were not at all meant to be funny.

Then on Saturday, Diego, Chubbs and I went to go see Notorious. The story of Biggy Smalls or which ever of his 35 names you care to refer to him as. If you have seen the Behind the Music or the E True Hollywood Story, then you've pretty much seen this movie. I still liked it though, but I could have waited to see it on DVD.

I still want to see Revolutionary Road and Slumdog Millionaire. I can probably wait for the others to come on DVD.. like Bride Wars and Marley and Me.

Working Out

I've started this new phase which I like to call pre-heating the oven. I'm sure you can figure that one out. I've been cutting out all the crap I eat.. all the snacking.. I've been really to trying to eat right. Yesterday, I joined Gold's gym. I spoke with a trainer and we went over what I should eat, and the times of day I should eat certain things.. Today.. I went for my first work out. I thought I was going to die. I actually had to quit early.. so that I could go barf! Yes, barf. I'm such a weak ass... I'm going to try my hardest not to give up on this.. I may have to switch my gym location and do my own work out! (because I am scardy cat and don't want to face this trainer again)

I bought this shirt because I thought it would be funny to work out in!

Too Many Words, Not Enough Pictures

I perfer blogs with more pictures.. and less words. Lately I have been posting too many words.. and not enough pictures. So I am going to work on that. I want to at least throw in one picture per blog. Also, The camping pictures are really big, but I am to lazy to fix them.. so deal with it :D Anyway.. I don't have a picture for this blog.. so I will just randomly find one that is saved on this computer.

So Far... So Great!

2009 has not disappointed.. and we are only 6 days in!! Monday, Diego was offered a job at the Department of Vital Statistics.. with the state. That is where you go to get your birth certificates. I don't know exactly what he is going to be doing.. but he is starting out pretty high up.. Admin 4. I started with the state as an Admin 2.

So.. yesterday we celebrated! I called into work, and we had lunch at VIVO.. we were really there for the awesome margaritas! Then after much research, we went to Circuit City and purchased ourselves a brand new TV! 46 inch, HD, flat screen.. and we got a new stand. It's an empty feeling spending that much money.. but heck, we watch a lot of TV and sports so we will definitely be getting our moneys worth :D

Crackisodes

This is what Diego calls all the Vh-1 shows I watch. They pretty much are like crack! Soo addicting! Last night I watched a lot of Vh-1 starting at 6.. the Rock of Love Charm School Reunion. Wow. Sharon Osborne was supposed to be teaching all these hookers how to have class.. and then she ends up pouring a glass of what looked liked wine on one of the girls! Which is actually a girl that I liked, from her time on I Love Money.. another favorite crackisode of mine.

After the reunion show, Confessions of a Teen Idol came on.. I decided to give this show a chance. After watching the first episode, My cousin and I decided this show was good enough to start recording weekly. It's about former male, teen idols that fell off the map for one reason or another, and now they are trying to get back into the business. So far I like Jamie Walters.. he was on 90210. He sang the song.. How do you talk to an angel. I don't know what the heck happened to Eric Neise.. the host of the grind.. and the original Real World guy. He looks like he has been living with wolves for the past few years.

Oh and then the best of the best... Rock of Love Bus! I must say I've watched the 2 previous ROL's and this one takes the cake. I couldn't believe how stupid these sluts were acting. It's soo funny to me that Brett Michael's is really trying to find love amongst all these HUGE fake breasted, stripper, porn star, penthouse pet... nasty... cracked out.. girls. They are just trying to be on TV and like Brett mentioned last night.. it's basically "insert rock star here" and all the same girls would be after whoever else was there. I hung my head in shame at some of the things these girls would say. It was actually hard to watch at some points.. I'm almost embarrassed to admit how much I love this show. I see it as comic relief!

Can I get a redo!

While I am on the subject of weddings: Today I was looking at a lot of wedding stuff on the knot.. gathering ideas and pictures for Jennifer and Stephanie's weddings.. and I decided.. I want to redo my wedding! Not really, but if I had known what I know now and could go back.. I would redo several things. I probably would have used different colors.. different centerpieces on the tables.. definitely better cakes! maybe a whole different venue!! Don't get me wrong.. when I look at pictures from my wedding, I love how things turned out.. But, when I look at other peoples wedding pictures... I always think.. "Damn! Why didn't I think of that!!"

Bridesmaid Dresses Confirmed!

Jennifer had been waiting on a few of her bridesmaids to try on the dress she had chosen, to make sure they liked it and were comfortable in it. Sure enough.. everyone loves it! Mainly because you don't have to have a flat stomach to look fabulous in it. Plus it is not very bridesmaid-ish.. so you can actually wear it again. (most people say that.. but most people would not be caught dead re-wearing the dress) Now that she has the dresses selected.. the colors are confirmed. Watermelon Pink & Black. Next stop.. Invitations & Save the Dates!

Camping On New Years

Hope everyone is having a happy new year so far! We started ours in the great outdoors! We put together a bit of a last minute trip to a park/lake in Bastrop. They had cozy cabins.. with 2 bunk beds in each cabin. I'm not a big fan of tent camping.. so this was perfect for me. So perfect, we decided to extend our stay to two nights instead of just one. We had a really good time, and will definitely be going back to this place! Here are some pics..
