Getting burped by daddy... on this particular day, daddy decided to accessorize with mommy's hair ties..
This blog started out as my 101 things to do in 1001 days, but has turned into a general blog. I will be detailing the happenings in the Ybarra Household.. Marking things off my list and jabbering about other junk that comes to mind!

The Hospital- After the arrival
Diego came into the room, and I could here him talking.. still.. I didn't move. It was so weird, because the doctors and nurses were having a conversation about TV and other random stuff that most co-workers would talk about! I was thinking.. hey, y'all need to focus! I heard them say I had good tissue and should heal up really well. That was a good thing, then they said ok.. lots of pressure, he's almost here! Then everyone made "aww" sounds and said that his eyes were already open! I heard him cry. So sweet! I was so anxious.. show him to me already! Damn! It seemed like 10 minutes went by before they showed him to me.. it was probably only about 3 or 4 minutes.
And there he was.. my baby! The moment I waited for forever.. he was perfect. He entered the world at 9:53 pm, weighing 5.9 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long.
The Hospital- Before the arrival
Sunday started with me co-hosting my sister in law's bridal shower, everything turned out lovely.. and it was good to hang with Steph and the family for a little while before my world got really hectic!
When I left the shower, I headed home where Diego was jamming out on to his iPod, he didn't know I was standing there and I caught him doing everything short of air guitar! haha..
My anxiety level was getting higher and higher.. I knew I wanted to get something to eat before we went to the hospital because I knew I wouldn't be eating until the baby arrived. We left a little too early, because I just could sit around any longer! We packed up the car, went Thundercloud and waiting for 6 pm to roll around..
Finally, it was 6 pm.. and we arrived at the hospital..
Once we got to our room, I got my gown on and got hooked up to the machines.. I was given cervidyl (just guessing on the spelling of that one) to thin my cervix.. and the waiting began.
We watched the Amazing Race, we watched the Oscars... they checked my cervix a few times.. I was not dilated any more than a cm. We decided to get some sleep.. ha.. yeah right, those beds were super uncomfortable.. plus, I was starting to feel a lot of pain. When I couldn't take it anymore.. I got some medicine. She shot it into my IV, and I was out with in a few seconds. Sometime during the night, I unplugged my machines and all the nurses came flooding in. I hardly remember this happening! That was some good medicine!
The next morning.. at 6:30 am, they started my pitocin drip.. and broke my water. I was told that I could ask for an epidural any time I wanted, there were 4-5 other ladies in labor.. and the epidural was first come first serve. So I said... serve me up! I got my epidural.. which was awful! I hated getting that thing.. and I even cried! It was so much painful as it was super uncomfortable. After it was in, I was all good. My legs went numb but I could still move around. I hadn't eaten anything since Thundercloud the night before.. and there was going to be no eating for my until Cash showed up. All I could have were Rainbow Popsicles.. I love those things and ate several through out the day. My mom and aunts Clonda, Mary and Beverly were in town that day, and stopped by the hospital hoping to see a baby.. all they saw was me laying in the bed, turning from side to side.
I talked on the phone and texted all day.. there was just nothing to do! I was waiting as patiently as I possible.. but, I was ready for things to get going!
Later on that evening, my cousins Brad & Jennifer stopped by.. also hoping to see a baby. They too only saw me laying in bed....
Jennifer watched as I had a contraction.. I didn't feel a thing. My contractions were really close together, I would have steady contractions and then 3 really close together. Cash's little heart was not liking the 3 in a row.. and that was concerning my doctor and the nurses. They had been messing with my pitocin levels all day, and by this time it was already getting down to the wire.
The doctor came in around 9 to check my cervix one more time. My contractions were becoming more regular, and the doctor just knew I would be dilated to at least an 8. Wrong. I was still only 2 cm. She told me it was time to have the baby. The anesthesiologist came in and gave me some medicine through my epidural.. and it numbed me up a lot. I could not move at all from the waste down. I started feel really panicky.. and nervous. I started crying because I just didn't like how numb I was.. it was not a good feeling. They gave Diego his scrubs and told him to suit up!
They wheeled me to the OR, and started to prep me for surgery... I was scared and nervous, I got the shakes.. the uncontrollable shakes. I was awake, but didn't want to move or talk or anything. I just laid there, eyes closed.. waiting for the cry.

Promise to catch up
So, it's been over a week since I last made a post. As expected, there's never a dull moment with a newborn in the house. Seems like we have been on the go ever since Sunday (the 7th).. even though we have been home quite a bit. I have pictures and stories to post. I need to post a birth story, but to be quite honest.. all the days we spent at the hospital have pretty much ran together. I'll get back to blogging soon though, promise.

The Big Day.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I will be co-hosting my sister in laws bridal shower and then heading to the hospital to have my baby! I can't believe this is the last night I will spend at my house before I become a mom. It's just a crazy thought! I'm so looking forward to my new life with my husband and our baby boy. I'm excited to see his precious little face and have his little hand wrap around my finger.
The anticipation of labor is really getting to me so I am trying to not to think about it, otherwise I might go nuts! I'm just really ready to do this! Plus, I'm ready to use all this cool stuff I've gotten!

Week 37
This week is winding down, and the big day is getting closer and closer. I have accomplished a lot of stuff this week. I can do so much stuff, when I don't have to spend 8 hours at work! Let's see this week.. Monday, I cleaned out the pantry and fridge.. and went to the grocery store. Then I spent Tuesday running errands with my mom and aunt and taking a walk with their dogs. On this walk, I realized just how slow I am these days! Wednesday, I cleaned the bathrooms and watched tv, and relaxed all day. Thursday.. I went to the doctor, then headed to the mall and visited my friends at their work.. spent some time chatting with them. While at the mall, I confirmed the fact that I am indeed super slow! The good ol' mall walkers were passing me up.. and you know, the mall walkers are about 50 years older than me! Today, I will be running a few more last minute errands and getting a mani/pedi and brow wax. Then I plan on hanging with my friend Brandy for a few hours. Tomorrow, I'll do all the very last minute things around the house and just enjoy the last few hours of (what I like to call) my previous life! :)
