Ok, it's been forever since I posted anything.. Time seriously does fly by. August and September were pretty much a blur.. Here's what we've been up to..
- End of August, beginning of September I started cleaning, de-cluttering, organizing, fine tooth combing every junk drawer, closet and cabinet. That took a lot of time, but I am so thrilled that we are down to the items we need, want and actually use. Everything else got put in the trash or the garage sale pile which eventually got taken to Goodwill.
- We had a garage sale mid September, it was a 4 family garage sale.. and it was pretty big! We made pretty good money considering everybody wants something for nothing. That's the most irritating part of a garage sale. It's like ok, I paid $80 for this.. I only want $10, and still you need me to go down to $5? Really? Oh and we got thieved at the sale! This lady and her husband stole some earrings and took the price tags off of some things.. what losers.
- The company that took pictures of Cash in the hospital came to our house for portraits, the prices this company has are outrageous and I'm not really into portrait style photos anyway.. so we just got the one free one.
- Since getting our new floors, all I do is sweep, mop, sweep, Swiffer, sweep, vacuum up cat fur balls and then sweep some more! Fur balls rolling like tumble weeds down our hall. Despite the fact that I hate sweeping, I love the floors. Seeing how much dirt, crumbs, fur and whatever the hell else ends up on the floor after just one day.. 4 years of carpet is just sick.
- I have started a paint project. All the white walls in our house are now a darker white. By darker white.. I mean, just barely darker. We were hoping it would make a little more of a difference, when I started painting I could hardly see a difference. Now that more of the walls are painted I can definitely tell, but I wish it was just a bit darker. Having that said, the walls were in desperate need of a paint job.. and now it looks so much fresher. So I'm ok with it. The lighting in this picture kinda sucks, but can you see where the paint stops and starts? Ok, I'll tell you.. it's about even with the window:
- Cash is doing all sorts of tricks! Mom & Dad's favorite is the "check this out I can hold my own bottle" trick. I stuck to my guns on this one. One day he held the bottle while I was holding it, so I let go and he held for a minute and then dropped it. After that, every bottle I made him hold it on his own.. until he was able to hold it the entire time. He's really good at it now, he was having trouble tilting it up to get the last of the milk out.. but, I think he's getting better at that now.
- Playing the guitar with Dad:
- He sits up really well now, he rides in carts with out the Bumbo now. He plays with his toys in the middle of the floor.. this doesn't usually last long because he gets in the crawling position, and doesn't know what to do after that. He gets pissed and starts screaming at us. He likes batting at hanging objects.. like fan cords and our new Halloween decorations.
- He's eating a ton of stuff.. all sorts of different baby foods, and adult food. He's a super drool monster these days. He started developing a rash under his lip due to all the drool, which we got under control now.
- I like decorating for fall, but this year is just so much more fun! I have someone to decorate for!! I'm building up my Halloween decor, I'm thinking about having an old school kids Halloween party next year.. bobbing for apples, the whole bit.
- I mowed the grass this past Saturday, after not having mowed a lawn in about a year and half.. I was freaking exhausted! My face was beat red!! I am so out of shape.. this is the part where I should say, I need to start working out again.. but, no.
- Cash experienced Friday Night Lights for the first last week. We took him to his first live football game. Hays vs Lehman. Freaking packed!! It wasn't the greatest idea to go on a night where both schools were pretty much the home team. Though he wasn't really concerned at all with the game, I think he had a good time. He was on his best behavior.. just taking everything in. I thought he was going to freak when every one started stomping their feet on the bleachers, but he was ok with it.
- September 15th marked our 3rd wedding anniversary. We are such losers, we did not even celebrate.
- The neighbors morning glories are growing like crazy over our fence, they add a little something to our yard, and we don't have to do a thing to them!
- Cash hit the 6 month mile marker, this month.. shoot, he already a week away from 7 months! Again, I can't even believe how fast this year is going by. It's just really blows my mind.
- Ok, I have to get up now.. gotta see what's on the DVR before the kid wakes up ;)
