10 on Tuesday

Wellll.... It's Thursday and I just remembered while running errands today that Tuesday came and went with out my 10 on Tuesday. Sorry folks! I did do some posting so hopefully that will tide you over until next Tuesday!

While I'm here though, I would like to give a huge shout out to sweet little Delaney who turns 1 today! I so can't believe it was already a year ago today that Diego and I headed out to Cedar Park after work to see her little face for the first time. So unbelievable how fast time files by! Anyway, Delaney we love you very much and can't wait for your party on Sunday!

Here's a picture from last Saturday.. when we went to see her big bro play t-ball!

Picking Strawberries

We had planned to go to Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls to pick strawberries, but my aunts decided that was too far, so we ended up going to Rockdale which is close to their house in Lexington to pick strawberries. It was an overcast day which was nice, otherwise it would have been so hot! I still want to go to SBF.. but, I guess I'll just wait for pumpkin season!

2 months

Cash is already 2 months. Can you believe it! He had his 2 month appointment on Monday, and he is getting to be a big boy! 11.6 pounds.. and 20 3/4 inches long. He has finally out grown his premie clothes.. he's finally in newborns! and one or two of his 0-3 month outfits fit him kinda big. He does have a few premie onesies that still fit.. but, mainly he's in newborns. He can actually wear the outfits I brought to the hospital for him to wear!

at his appointment.. he peed on the scale, and threw up all over me when they gave him the oral shot. Luckily, the nurse was sitting in a rolling chair and was about to get out of the way quickly or she would have gotten the worst of it!

Boogie on his 2 month birthday, leaving Ikea for the second time this week!

Carpet Cleaning Fiasco

I hate carpet. Diego compares it to a sock that never gets washed.. and that is basically what it is. It's gross! Last year, for my birthday.. my mom got our carpets cleaned for us. The company that we used, Kiwi, has a policy that if you have them come back out within a year they will clean the carpets again for $4 per room. (per room that you had done previously) The time was rolling around again so I wanted to take advantage of the deal. I called and set up an appointment. They were going to come out to clean our bedroom, the living room, and the hall way. Of course, there is always a catch.. $4 per room, plus $28 trip fee.. fine. $40 isn't that bad and the carpets needed to be cleaned again. Bad! So we moved all the furniture and waited for them to show up. After several hours of looking at the living room with no furniture and straight up dirty carpet.. I could not wait for them to get there and get the carpets cleaned. This was Wednesday, the kid shows and looks around.. and says.. are you going to vacuum the floor? I said... UHHH, I thought you were going to. He tells me that when they come back for a warranty cleaning, they do not vacuum or move any furniture. I said, well no one told me that. I thought I was getting the same thing I got last time. He assures me that no, he will not be vacuuming.. and tells me that I can vacuum when he is done. I think NOT! We have cats.. which means there is cat litter tracked throughout our house and cat fur deep down.. and I am not going have you get that all nice and wet.. and then try to vacuum later. I tell him to wait a minute while I call Kiwi and find out why the hell no one told me this. The lady on the line says she can pull the tape and listen to the conversation where they told me that they would not be vacuuming.. I say PLEASE DO! Because I was not told this.. otherwise, I would have had the carpets vacuumed or I would have said nevermind. She puts me hold and comes back and says can you vacuum really quickly? or we can charge you another $4 per room to vacuum. Uh. no. I had (at the time) 7 week old baby to tend to.. and I am not going to vacuum, while the kid that is supposed to do it sits there and watches me. No. Plus, I want to hear the tape! They avoid playing me the tape so I give those people a piece of my mind.. and I was not even close to being nice about it. By this time the kid has walked back to his van.. I lock the door and tell the people to make him leave. I'm furious. Now I have to continue looking at this sick ass carpet.

Luckily, Diego heard about some guy on the radio that cleans carpets pretty cheap so we called him out. He couldn't come until Friday... which was a really long time to go with our furniture shoved in the corner.. but, we got the carpets done and they looked so much better. Here are some pictures from our days with no furniture:

Ten on Tuesday

Since I'm not good at blogging anymore.. I am going to take an idea from many blogs that I read. Ten on Tuesday. Just 10 random things going on around me.. that way everyone is still up to speed on the 3 of us!

1. Twenty Seven. Today is my 27th birthday.. Thirty is lurking around the corner, eek!
2. I am copy catting another blog favorite.. A Week in the Life. Recently, few people I know, and several blogs that I read have done this.. and I love it! Just taking pictures of everything that goes on during one week in my life. So far so good. I started last Thursday, I'll try and post it all on Friday.. don't hold me to that though!

4. Our front yard got a make over recently. One day a couple of weeks ago, my mom and Aunt Clonda came over and gave our front yard a face lift. All it really needed was some shutters and a few plants.. but it looks sooooo much better. I've always battled with the front of our house.. it's just too plain. Now it has some curb appeal, I'm much happier with it.

5. Today, I will be making the trek to Ikea, just me and Cash.. I'm feeling brave today I guess!
6. We got our carpets cleaned last week. It was such a fiasco.. but, the carpet looks great! More on that in my "WITL" post..
7. Sunday night, Cash slept sooo well! He only woke us up at 12:45, 3 and 6:45! best night yet. Too bad the trend didn't continue last night!
8. Can I just call out my diaper champ real quick.. that thing is definitely not the champ of poop stink. We are now only using it for pee diapers.. because poop stinks! :)
9. Uncle David is back! Diego's brother has been in the Marines since 2002... and he is finally reaching the end! He returned from Spain, and is finishing up his last month! We can't wait to see him and have him meet lil Cash!
10. Diego's birthday was few days ago.. Mimi made him a cake!

finding time

here lately a few words from one of my favorite childhood tv shows keeps playing in my head.. "no time! there's never any time!" jessie spano said it best! i'm not trying to get into stanford or anything.. i'm just trying to do everyday junk! i never really realized just how much time a newborn takes up. i mean damn, 6 weeks has already passed! like clock work, the boy eats every 2 hours.. he takes about 30 mins to eat, then another 5-10 to burp, then diaper change, after that i have to make sure he is content enough to be put down.. by that time an hour or more has passed and it's almost time to do it all over again! so that leaves very little time for extra stuff.. with that said my blog has fallen by the way side. so sad. if you are wondering why there are no capital letters.. that's because i am typing with one hand and rocking my child to sleep with the other.. that's my life these days. now don't get me wrong.. i wouldn't change it for the world, i love my little guy to death. he completes my world.

i think that's why i've been really into facebook lately.. i can pop in and out quickly. i'm not saying goodbye to my blog or anything.. but, just don't hold your breath for my next post.. just befriend me on facebook!

maybe i'll have more time when the kid learns to hold his own bottle!

1 month

Little Monster!
DSCN5239
Well, we've made it to the first mile marker.. Cash is 1 month today! We've had some pretty rough days (yesterday) but, we're trucking a long.. taking it one day at a time. I know it's been forever since I blogged, but during the last month.. Cash pasted his hearing test with flying colors, finally got circumcised.. (such a fiasco, but it's done!) started taking real baths, he focuses his eyes you.. and even the TV! (uh oh) He loves his swing and doesn't care much for his bouncy seat. He loves to sleep in your arms, and hates to be put down! (major uh oh!) We have found out that the pacifier is our life saver. We got to spend Easter with both of our families, with out having to rush off to the next house.. which was really nice for a change. Too bad I didn't even take one picture of my sons first Easter. What a bad mom! His Mimi did take one so maybe I can get it from her..

Tomorrow we go to the doctor for his one month check up, can't wait to see how much he weighs!
